Energy Assistance
Low Income Energy Assistance Program - LIEAP
The Wyoming Department of Family Services has limited funding available which can assist qualified applicants with their primary heating bills.
In addition, they also offer crisis assistance for those facing a life or health threatening situation, a heating system failure during winter months, or who need deposit funds for a fuel hookup or to avoid a shutoff.
Those who qualify for LIEAP may also be eligible for Weatherization Assistance. These funds are used for capital intensive repairs such as furnaces, water heaters, and the like and also for needs assessments, caulking, insulation, storm windows, repairs and other improvements designed to lower your energy bill.
Contact NOWCAP at 1-800-246-4221 to obtain an application form. Applications for LIEAP are taken beginning October 1 of the program year and the application cut off date is the last business day of the following February. Applications for the Weatherization Assistance Program are accepted every day of the year.
